We all know that natural remedies are present around us to push away these mosquitoes. The foremost thing that comes in our mind are they effective and strong like the chemicals. The answers to both of them are yes but we need to know which all are effective and how much quantity are required and the frequency of the use. We can amend or improvise the usage according to the situation like indoor or outdoor.
Here are some simple hacks for us to prepare and can be used as a daily. The preparation methods are real simple and very effective. These natural repellents can be used as a spray , lotion to ward of and also the age old method of burning.

2.Organic Coconut oil
3.Citronella essential oil
4.Marigold(gende ka phool)/
6. Mist Sprayer bottle
7. Aroma Incense Burner
8. Old mosquito repellent vaporizers( used liquid bottles)
Citronella oil : Citronellol, citronellal, and geraniol are the major components of oil of citronella which also have the mosquito repellent quality. It is widely used as a natural repellent and has proved to be effective.
Camphor ( Karpura): From the ancient Vedic ages it is used as homage and burnt in front of God . The amazing fact is that they emit pesticide or repellent properties when burnt. Just burning camphor you can avoid the blood suckers.
Marigold Oil : It has the same mosquito repellent qualities and it essential oil is easily available in India.
The concoction for the spray is quite easy.
For a 4 oz spraying bottle you need
- 15 drops of neem oil
- 15 drops of citronella oil
- Water and some light mineral oil about ½ teaspoon preferably scented.
Or else you can pour these concoction in the used bottles of mosquito vaporizer like( all out ) and plug it. And enjoy safe smokeless vapours. For the scent you can add the marigold oil around the same amount.
Just pour the essential oils and water and camphor crushed . Let it burn for about 3 hours or till the tea candle gets finished. It is wise to go for the electric diffuser as inserting tea candle stocking them are added hassle. But If you do not mind them, they also work perfectly fine.

Another great product is the Borosil natural diffuser which uses oil and wick as the heater. The camphor crushed along with water and the essential oil can be poured over in the dish and heated by the diya. The slow process of heating increases the diffusing time .
For applying on the skin of your baby to ward off the mosquitoes. Neem oil 15 drops 15 drops of citronella oil and light coconut oil of 100 ml Mix it up and apply on your kids. The mosquitoes would stay at distance. If you find that applying coconut oil in humid climate is a tad difficult apply to any light mineral oil that suits your baby or even lotion you generally apply.
